The North Creek Woods and Meadow are part of the Cook County Forest Preserves in Lansing, Illinois. The woods are linked to the Thorn Creek Trail system’s other forest preserves. They’re named after North Creek, a Thorn Creek tributary that runs through the woods. They have miles of paved bike trails and off-trail dirt hiking paths. During the warm and cold seasons, they are a popular destination for runners, cyclists, and walkers. North Creek Woods is a mixture of dense forest and prairie shrubland. Bicycle trails traverse both. A pavilion is also located in the main parking lot on Glenwood-Lansing Road. The forest is mostly flat. Read more about Pennsy Greenway.
